In April, Oskaras Korsunovas theatre will launch “Uncle Vania” by Chekhov. The Show was created by an international team – French director Eric Lacascade, stage designer Gintaras Makarevicius and the actors, normally associated with different Lithuanian theatres.
Before the Lithuanian premiere of “Hamlet” that took place on November 20, 2008, in the Arts Printing House, the performance was already presented for the audience several times. The world premiere took place on September 9, 2008 in the European Capital of Culture Stavanger 2008, which together with Vilnius – European capital of culture 2009 is a coproducer of the performance.
The Europe Theatre Prize began in 1986, as a pilot program of the European Committee. It is held on an annual basis by the Europe Theatre Prize company.
