DAINIUS LIŠKEVIČIUS

Born in 1970. Dainius Liškevicius has been exhibiting since 1995. His first works were sculptural installations. In his works the artist combines ironically expressed aesthetics of kitsch with the critique of the dominant ideologies or popular life styles. From 1996 the artist started creating works that include his own participation – performances, actions, video-performances. Since 1998 Dainius Liškevicius has produced several conceptual installations. He is the author of a set design of the performances The Lower Depths and Miranda directed by Oskaras Koršunovas.
